I am using stainless steel plates (SS316L but no proof) i wonder why the water turns into sludge like in brown color after switching the power on. I am using only tap filtered water from desalination plant to community supply. any suggestion?

Hi Rogelio,

2 things to consider.

Filtered tap water still contains minerals.

VERY IMPORTANT: Never use anything other than distilled water or steamed distilled water in your hydrogen generator. Distilled or steamed distilled water is inexpensive and can be found in grocery stores and drug stores.

Do Not Use well water, tap water, reverse osmosis, spring water or purified water. The impurities disturb the electrolysis process, the minerals in tap water will attack your stainless steel plates.

Minerals are removed by one of several processes; distillation, reverse-osmosis and deionization. Purified water is also known as "demineralized water," "deionized water," "distilled water," and "reverse osmosis water."

Catalyst You do not state what type of catalyst you are using, but it sounds like you may be using Baking Soda (sodium bicarbonate). This causes many problems.

We only use 1 type of catalyst Potassium Hydroxide. Potassium Hydroxide Food Grade 90+% in Flake Form

Hope this helps.
