MAP Sensor Enhancer Check engine Light

I have a 89 Ford 460 in a motorhome. I have used the enhancer previously on a Ford diesel with no problems. Now when I connect the enhancer to the 89 Ford my check engine light comes on and engine stalls even though enhancer is set to original. So connected the wires from sensor to each other and all is well. What am I doing wrong or could my enhancer bad?
