Generator intake questions

I have a 2001 chevy 2500hd gas 6.0 liter unit

I have a K&M air cleaner kit filter and intake pipe
I installed the generator hose on a 0.25" barbed
fitting in the pipe between the air cleaner and the
intake.
It seems to me there is very little "Draw" or vacuum
on the hose, there is no vacuum at all when I and put
my finger over the hose due to the much larger intake pipe supply the engines need for air.
Is there a place on this engine to tap into to get more
draw or due I need a small transfer pump to move the
hydrogen into the engine.
Or will there be enough draw as is to enhance the fuel
economy.
